Children & Youth

Children anphoto-jun-23-9-27-19-pmd youth enjoy times of fellowship and learning. Some of their fun events are summer camp, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, Easter Egg Hunt, kite flying and other special gatherings throughout the year.

A major endeavor of the church is to teach the children and youth the significance of caring for the people and the world we live in.  Once a month the children take an offering, called the “Noisy Offering.”  As they pass through the congregation they receive the loose change in tin cans.  The children choose the project they want to support.  Presently, they are seeking to purchase a cow through the Heifer Project.

Camp fees are paid by the church for every child and youth attending the summer camp program at Crystal Springs Camp.  Through the camping experience, the children and youth learn about God and about living in community with others.

Every year (usually June), the children enjoy Vacation Bible School.  The time together is for learning about God, having fun and finding ways to serve others.  A service project is adopted every year.  This past year the children made dog chew toys to give to the local animal shelter.

In the spring, the children are led in the making of kites.   We the go outside and fly the kites.  Young and old alike enjoy the afternoon when the bluphoto-apr-19-2-24-44-pme sky is lit up with the colorful kites.

The Easter Egg Hunt is not just an ordinary hunt.  There are games, creative craft opportunities (decorating eggs), food, story time and of course the hunting of over 1,000 eggs filled with candy and special prizes.

There is a room designated just for the Youth.  Their room contains a billiard table, shuffle board, other games and most importantly musical equipment for their enjoyment.
