Worship is offered every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. This is the main gathering of the church when young and old come together. It is through worship that we experience the living God present with us and in the lives of the people of Harmony. From our worship we learn that grace has been given to us and that as we leave we must take that same grace and give it to others.
Monitor screens are installed in the front of the sanctuary enabling us to worship in a blended fashion. We sing some older traditional songs and some newer contemporary ones. Worship is interactive and intergenerational. Young and old gather to give praise the God and to seek the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Every Sunday, one of the most meaningful times of worship is when the pastor comes into the very midst of the people and receives prayer requests and needs in the community are shared with all. Intercessory prayer is then lifted for all of the requests and needs. This moment is a time when we are reminded that we are community and we have a responsibility to not only pray for others but to be proactive and serving the needs of others.
Holy Communion is offered once a month on the first Sunday of each month. Communion is a time when the people of God remember the sacrifice of Jesus. The grape juice and the bread remind us of the body and blood of Jesus given for us on the cross. Communion is open to ALL who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ regardless of any church affiliation.
Our pastor, Dr. Joseph H. Butler, offers sermons relevant to the world in which we live. Through God’s Word we are challenged to strengthen our walk with God and our service to the world..
