Perhaps one of the key words to describe the Men’s Fellowship is found in the words of an old song, “If I had a hammer.” Through the fellowship, opportunities are offered to be involved in projects around the church and community. The men have built wheel chair ramps when they are needed by people in the community. They help neighbors and our elderly population by lending a hand, through general clean-up, tilling a garden, or participating in a community clean up project around the community and on personal property.
The construction of an outdoor stage for music productions was one of the more major projects undertaken. The outdoor stage is completely wired for lights and music. This stage is used for a variety of events from music festivals to worship to stage productions.
One project in progress is to update, refresh and make the church playground area safer for children and adults.
All of the projects undertaken by the men a supported by events like fish fries and bar-b-ques and special gifts.
The men of the community gather once a month from October through June for breakfast at a local restaurant. Meeting together at 8:00 am, for this Dutch-treat time provides fellowship and community building.
