2The women of the church are the mission arm of the church. They meet once a month for fellowship and a program.

“LET’S GO WHERE JESUS IS’ is the current focus of work for the Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s Ministry.  The message is that Jesus is not confined to the four walls of the church.  Through their efforts many local needs are being met.  One of the missions they support is the Blue Monarch,  a residential Christian community for women and children to break adverse cycles and rebuild families.  Others include the Multi-County Cancer Network, Horseplay (working with special needs individuals), Good Samaritan, and Still Waters Ministry (provides shelter and direction to families in crises).

Around the world, the CPWM supports missionary work in 13 countries including, South America, the Phillipines, Eastern Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, Central America and Mexico, through the Stott/Wallace Missionary Fund.  Hot lunch programs are provided, feeding thousands of children each day.  Missionaries are supported as they share the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Each month at the meeting, the Fellowship of the Least Coin is collected to assist in the support in a perpetually growing  fund to support the work of missionaries.

Locally, assistance is given to families in need through the Faith Promise Offering.  We give in Faith knowing that God keeps His promise to Provide.   Envelopes are provided for people to leave in the offering plates each wphoto-jul-19-9-40-40-pmeek.  100% of all these funds are distributed through direction of the elders to local family crisis needs.

In November and December baskets of food along with turkeys are distributed to families in the area.  Also in November, the Loaves and Fishes offering is received to help hunger needs around the world.

One way that funds are raised is through the Women hosting the Retired Federal Worker’s Union twice a year for a banquet.  Another means of support is given by the church as a whole.  Our United Outreach (10% of all church income) is given to the work and ministry of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church around the world.
